$25K Reward Offered In Fatal Shooting Of 21-Year-Old Silver Spring Man

WASHINGTON, DC — A $25,000 is being offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in Washington, D.C. This includes the person responsible in the Aug. 23 fatal shooting of 21-year-old Juwaan Henry of Silver Spring.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded around 8:16 p.m. to the 800 block of 7th Street, Northwest, for the report of a shooting. That's where they found Henry, who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Through their investigation, homicide detectives identified 24-year-old Dwayne Brooks Jr. of Southeast D.C. as a suspect in this case, according to a police release. Detectives have obtained a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for first degree murder for Brooks.
