An elderly Colesville man died Tuesday after his car collided with a van at a White Oak intersection, police say.

SILVER SPRING, MD — An elderly Colesville man died Tuesday from injuries he suffered in a crash when he turned in front of a van on Columbia Pike in the White Oak area, officials say. The fatal collision happened about 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of Columbia Pike (Route 29) and Stewart Lane.

The van and the Honda collided in the intersection, then the van struck a 2012 Toyota Camry stopped for the red light on Stewart Lane at Columbia Pike.

The driver of the Honda, Mauro Juan Loli, 83, of Ivywood Lane in Colesville, was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
