3 Silver Spring Residents Injured In Pedestrian Collision

Three Silver Spring residents were sent to the hospital from a serious pedestrian collision that occurred in the Aspen Hill area.

ASPEN HILL, MD — Three Silver Spring residents were sent to the hospital from a serious pedestrian collision that occurred in the Aspen Hill area on Tuesday. (Subscribe to Silver Spring Patch to stay up to date on all local news.)

At about 9:23 p.m., officers responded to Connecticut Avenue at Georgia Avenue for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Toyota Scion was traveling southbound on Connecticut Avenue when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was crossing the southbound lanes of Connecticut Avenue, police said.

The pedestrian — Trent Jerome Peterson, 60 — remains in treatment for serious injuries.

The driver, Mohamed Farzan Imtiyaz, 21, of Silver Spring and his passenger, a 12-year-old boy from Silver Spring, were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
