$39K Superfecta Win On MD Lottery Ticket Sold At Silver Spring Giant

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Gaithersburg man recently claimed his $39,029 prize from the Maryland Lottery by playing Racetrax at a Giant Foods in Silver Spring.

The Montgomery County man and his brother, who are both avid Racetrax players, showed up at Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim the biggest prize that either of them have won to date.

“It’s my first time, actually,” the Racetrax winner said, who is certain there will be a family party to celebrate his lucky win.

Racetrax is a simulated horse race game. The Gaithersburg man scored a Superfecta by betting that the 12, 8, 3 and 5 horses would cross the finish line in that order. He played 15 drawings at $1 each, with the 13th race being the one that generated the $39,029 win.

Giant #135, which is located at 3860 International Drive in Silver Spring, will received a $390.29 bonus for selling the winning Racetrax ticket.
