$50K Lottery Win For Silver Spring Construction Worker At Exxon

A stop at a Silver Spring gas station netted a $50,000 win for a 30-year-old construction worker.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Lucky isn't the word most people use to describe filling up their tank at a gas station. But for one Silver Spring construction worker, his trip to the Wheaton Exxon gas station on Georgia Avenue turned into a $50,000 payday.

The 30-year-old plays lottery games several times a week, but decided to splurge on a $30 ticket while getting gas. Why? Because he was attracted to the game's artwork, which features bags of money and piles of cash, according to Maryland lottery officials.

Seemed like a pretty good gamble, considering he is now $50,000 richer.
