$50K Windfall From MD Lottery Celebrated By Silver Spring Man
A Silver Spring man recently discovered the $2 quick-pick ticket he purchased at an Upper Marlboro gas station was worth $50,000

SILVER SPRING, MD — A long-time Maryland Lottery fan who travels around the state for his job finally got to celebrate a big win.
“I have been playing both Powerball and Mega Millions for about 15 to 20 years. I like to play the games with the bigger prizes,” said Charlie Ayoub.
On Nov. 5, the 58-year-old from Silver Spring discovered the $2 quick-pick ticket he purchased at the Upper Marlboro Xtra Fuel at 15009 Marlboro Pike was worth $50,000.

“When I first scanned the ticket, it said $50,000. I didn’t believe it," Ayoub said. "I thought it was closer to $50.” After scanning it several more times, he realized that the ticket was a winner.
Ayoub told Maryland Lottery officials that he plans to invest the money, pay off some bills, and make a donation to his church. The money will also help defray some of his 18-year-old child's college expenses.
