Murder Charges Filed Against 6 Men In Gang-Related Homicide At Silver Spring Park
Montgomery County Police arrested six suspects between December and May connected to a 2022 gang-related homicide at Silver Spring park.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police over several months arrested six suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Edvin Moises Agustin Leon of no known address, whose body was found last November in Northwest Branch Stream Valley Park.
Authorities released the names of those charged with murder and others crimes on Wednesday.
Officers responded on Nov. 9, 2022, to the wooded area behind a Silver Spring Apartment complex for the report of multiple shots being fired. Arriving officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition, according to police.

While canvassing the crime scene, K-9 officers discovered Agustin Leon's body, which was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Officer
Investigators determined that Agustin Leon's death was a gang-related homicide and identified six suspects, who were arrested between December 2022 and May 2023:

- Sender Emanuel Godoy-Lemus, 19, of Silver Spring, first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder
- Edgard Vladimir Castro-Contreras, 19, unknown address, first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder
- Brayan Bonilla-Andrade, 22, of College Park, first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit murder
- Daniel Yaque Del Cid, 29, of Greenbelt, first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit murder
- Edwin Armando Sanchez-Montiel, age 31, of Silver Spring, accessory after the fact murder
- Jonathan Edwardo Videz, 28, of Montgomery Village, first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and several other charges.
All six suspects are being held without bond and awaiting trial, according to police
