7th Floor Fire Extinguished At Columbia Towers; No One Injured: MCFRS

SILVER SPRING, MD —Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were on the scene around 1:13 p.m., on Sunday, for the report of an apartment fire at Columbia Towers at 12001 Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring.

A second alarm was issued, bringing additional units to the scene of the fire, according to MCFRS.

After extinguishing the fire in an apartment on the seventh floor, firefighters conducted a search and found no one trapped or injured. In fact, no residents or firefighters required medical assistance, according to a MCFRS social media post.

MCFRS reported some units below the apartment where the fire was location suffered water damage.

A Montgomery County Fire and Rescue representative explains to the residents of Columbia Towers how the fire was extinguished and answered questions. Residents began making their way back to their apartments. (MCFRS)
