African Arts, Culture and Education Afterschool Academy Coming to Park Montgomery and Essex House in November

LIGHTS ON AFTERSCHOOL: Join us on October 28, 6:30 p.m., at Long Branch Community Center, Silver Spring to explore the New ACE Academy!

The Montgomery County Collaboration Council for Children, Youth and Families received a three-year 21st Century Community Learning Center grant to bring the African Arts, Culture and Education Academy, an afterschool program, to children, first through fifth grade, living at Park Montgomery and Essex House.  We will be combining the arts and learning with fun afterschool activities that will engage your children. Programs like classes in West African drumming and dance, basket weaving and sculpture, and traditional African tales.

Please join us for our Lights ON Afterschool Event on Wednesday, October 28th, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Long Branch Community Center, 8700 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring.  Activities will include traditional African dance performances, music and storytelling. Light refreshments will be served. This will be a great opportunity for you to learn about the quality afterschool activities that will be offered to your children at no cost. Questions?
