The elder Henderson was found dead by police during a May 26 welfare check at the Charter House, a community specifically for individuals who are 55 and older.
An autopsy carried out by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner found that Henderson died in a homicide.
Officials did not provide additional details on the cause or state how the two women became suspects in the case.
