Preliminary information indicated three to four vehicles were involved, including a Tesla Cybertruck that was split in half. Multiple people were initially trapped in separate vehicles, authorities said.

Police later said the crash involved at least 10 vehicles after a moving truck lost control and collided with them.

Ten people, including three children, were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.

Northbound Route 29 was temporarily closed at Musgrove Road while emergency crews worked at the scene. All roads have since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
