Today's riddle: Why do fish live in salt water? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Bike riders did the math on County's cycling network (mymcmedia.org) — Bike riders say Montgomery County's patchwork network forces them into traffic, even as new lanes and trails are added in Silver Spring, Bethesda, and Wheaton. With two miles of trail under construction and more projects planned, cyclists argue the county must prioritize continuous routes that connect neighborhoods, Metro stations, and major streets so everyday trips feel safe from end to end.
2. MoCo red-light cameras may start catching speeders by end of year (bethesdamagazine.com) — Montgomery County may soon use some existing red-light cameras to ticket speeders during green lights, part of a Vision Zero push that directly affects Silver Spring drivers and pedestrians. The plan follows several deadly crashes, including the June hit-and-run that killed Silver Spring resident Hanna Wegayehou, and includes new sidewalks, bikeways, and lower speed limits aimed at making county roads safer.
3. FDA Public Meeting: Testosterone Use In Menopausal Women - 09/17/2026 (fda.gov) — The FDA is hosting a hybrid public workshop on testosterone use in menopausal women at its White Oak Campus on New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring this September. Local residents can attend in person or via Zoom with advance registration, learn about current research gaps and safety questions, and submit public comments through October on how these therapies should be studied and developed.
4. Bri3 Drops Visuals For "What I Like" Single (hip-hopvibe.com) — DMV rapper Bri3 has released a new video for her single "What I Like," showcasing a relaxed, Atlanta-shot visual as she builds on a busy 2026. Earlier this year she performed closer to home at The Fillmore Silver Spring during DaBaby's Be More Grateful Tour, part of a run that's helping her grow beyond her initial viral success.
