Several People Injured After 3-Car Collision In MoCo (patch.com) — Drivers in the White Oak area of Silver Spring faced a serious three-car collision Sunday night at Columbia Pike and Stewart Lane, leaving multiple people injured and at least two hospitalized with serious injuries. Fire and rescue crews had to free a trapped occupant from an overturned vehicle, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash.
2. Affordable Maryland Family Adventures That Won't Break the Bank (myfamilytravels.com) — One of the most budget-friendly family adventures here in Silver Spring is Brookside Gardens, a free 50-acre display garden tucked inside Wheaton Regional Park. The guide also spotlights other low-cost Maryland destinations, from waterfalls and beaches to historic battlefields and wildlife refuges, giving families plenty of day-trip ideas that won't strain the budget.
3. Yung Gravy to stop in Silver Spring for 'The Joyrider Tour' (dcnewsnow.com) — Yung Gravy is bringing his Joyrider Tour to The Fillmore Silver Spring on November 11, with doors opening at 7 p.m. He'll perform alongside fellow artist Terror Reid, with additional tour stops planned in Richmond and Norfolk. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 28 at 10 a.m.
4. How Far $2,000 A Month Goes In The DC Area Rental Market (urbanturf.com) — If you're renting in Silver Spring, $2,000 a month now stretches to nearly 960 square feet, often enough for a modest two-bedroom, far more space than in DC, Arlington, or Bethesda. A new UrbanTurf analysis shows Silver Spring and Hyattsville offering the region's roomiest rentals for that budget, though individual listings can still vary widely.
5. Adventist Creators Called to Turn Digital Influence Into Mission - Seventh-day Adventist Church (interamerica.org) — Silver Spring recently hosted nearly 200 Adventist content creators for the 2026 Creator Summit, where church leaders urged them to turn online influence into deeper, relationship-based ministry. Sessions in town focused on reaching secular and post-Christian audiences, connecting digital work with local churches, and preparing for a global OneVoice27 evangelistic initiative.
