• Maryland Man Pleads Guilty In D.C. Medicaid Fraud Scheme Topping $250,000 (thebaynet.com) — A Silver Spring man has admitted in federal court to joining a scheme that fraudulently billed D.C. Medicaid for mental health services that were never provided or heavily exaggerated, causing more than $250,000 in losses. Prosecutors say he and others routinely maxed out billing for telehealth and assessments regardless of actual care, with investigators later catching him creating fake sessions with an undercover FBI agent.
   

• Driver charged in March crash that killed 2 in Rockville (wtop.com) — A Silver Spring resident was one of two passengers killed in a high-speed crash on Norbeck Road in Rockville back in March, and the driver is now charged with negligent manslaughter. Police say the BMW was traveling nearly three times the speed limit before overturning and striking multiple objects, and the driver has since turned himself in and been released on bond.
