MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A man was fatally shot Thursday in the White Oak community.
Montgomery County Police said the incident took place on the 1700 block of January Drive, with officers called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
Pete Piringer, a spokesperson with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said one person was evaluated at the scene and declined to be taken to the hospital.
Authorities have not released the identity of the man or detailed what prompted the afternoon shooting.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
