Armed Carjacking Suspect Arrested Outside Prince George's County Home
Montgomery County Police arrested a 22-year-old Prince George's County man in connection with the Aug. 6 armed carjacking in Silver Spring.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police arrested 22-year-old Vincent Adeniyi Oyegbami of Prince George's County in connection with an armed carjacking that took place on Aug. 6 in Silver Spring.
Police responded around 5:39 a.m. for the report of an armed carjacking in the 8300 block of Georgia Avenue. Investigators determined that a man armed with a black handgun stole and drove off with a white 2017 Mercedes E300, according to police. Through their investigation, detectives identified Oyegbami as a suspect in the case.
On Aug. 24, police obtained an arrest warrant for Oyegbami, charging him with armed carjacking, firearm use in a violent felony crime, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a firearm, theft and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

After observing Oyegbami leaving his home in Prince George's County on Aug. 31, detectives arrested him, following a brief foot chase, according to police.

Acting on a search and seizure warrant, police searched Oyegbami’s residence, where they found a loaded Glock 30 and other evidence connecting him to the armed carjacking, according to police.

Oyegbami is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
