Aspen Hill Crash Now Fatal; 2 Others Seriously Injured, Cops Say

The 37-year-old man involved in a collision early Sunday morning in Aspen Hill has died, police say.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A 37-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Aspen Hill, Montgomery County police said.

The collision occurred around 1:11 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Norbeck and Layhill roads.

Authorities said an investigation showed that a black 2016 Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on Layhill Road when it collided with a white 2015 Nissan Altima heading westbound.

Police identified the driver of the white 2015 Nissan Altima as Waqas Tahir Khan, of Woodbridge, Virginia. The 37-year-old was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died on Monday. The adult female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police did not provide an update on her injuries.

The driver of the black 2016 Nissan Altima has been identified as Aaron Pugh, 30, of an unconfirmed address. Police said he was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
