Aspen Hill Kidnapping Report Is 'Unfounded,' Police Say
Montgomery County police say a report of a kidnapping in Aspen Hill is unfounded. An investigation is ongoing.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A report of a kidnapping Thursday night in Aspen Hill was unfounded, according to authorities.
Montgomery County police received a call at 5 p.m. about a possible kidnapping in the 3000 block of Hewitt Ave. A witness told police they saw a man forced into a vehicle that then drove off.
Shortly after receiving the report, police got a call for possible shots fired in the area, Officer Rick Goodale told Patch.

Authorities responded to the area, canvassing the neighborhood for about two-and-a-half hours, Goodale said. After speaking to neighbors, Goodale said that officers could not find any evidence of a kidnapping or shooting.
Police will return to the area for further investigation, he added.
