Attempted Murder Charge Filed In Shooting At Silver Spring Gas Station

A Silver Spring man faces multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, in a shooting at a local gas station in July.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police arrested 20-year-old Abdulfata Sani of Silver Spring in connection with a July 12 shooting at a local gas station, according to a police release.

Around 8:06 a.m., on July 12, officers responded to the Dash In gas station at 11223 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring for the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they could not locate the victim, but a second call informed them that the victim had been dropped off at a nearby hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound, according to police.

During their investigation into the shooting, police identified Sani as a suspect in the case. He was arrested by authorities after he exited a plane at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Sept. 3, according to police.

Police charged Sani with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and use of a firearm while committing a violent felony, according to the release. He is currently being held without bond.
