Reception: October 18 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Two solo artists from the Washington DC metro area exhibit recent works in varied mediums.
Arleen Cannata Seed draws inspiration from accessible global world experiences to portray images which are credible and recognizable but not hyper-realistic. She uses classical approaches with newer techniques, materials and methods to display concepts and themes such as equality and rights, identity, participation and citizen voice, sustainability and climate change.
Coming from decades of practice as a Jungian psychoanalyst, Melanie Starr Costello explores archetypes and emotions that shape visual experience. Rendering landscape, figure and still life in watercolor and pastel mediums, she aims to portray a meeting place of outer and inner forms.
