 North Woodside Citizens' Association invites you to tour a diverse 
array of historic homes in our neighborhood, located just a mile from 
downtown Silver Spring. Beginning in the 1890s along Grace Church Road 
and expanding through the early 20th century, North Woodside offers a 
living gallery of local architecture from late Victorian homes to 
bungalows, Tudors, and Colonials to mid-century cottages. House tour 
booklets will highlight historical information about the featured homes 
and neighborhood. Profits from the tour will support a community native 
landscaping project and the Linden-Lyttonsville Museum.

Meet W. Allen Taylor
W. Allen Taylor is a jazz vocalist whose sound blends originality with the elegance, spontaneity, and storytelling of jazz’s golden age. A former winner of the San Francisco Bay Area’s Jazz Search West Competition, Taylor draws inspiration from an extraordinary lineage of vocal artists, including Jon Hendricks, Al Jarreau, Betty Carter, Nat King Cole, and Mark Murphy. Those influences come together in a performance style that honors the jazz tradition with a deep respect of its history.
The Historic Takoma Station Tavern
Takoma Station Tavern has long been part of the Washington, D.C. area's live-music landscape, showcasing exceptional musicians and giving audiences the opportunity to experience them up close. Please join us on Monday, September 28th from 6 to 9 pm for our monthly jazz vocal open mic at El Golfo Restaurant.
Whether you’re brushing up songs for your next gig, a complete newbie to the open mic scene, or a listener who loves vocal jazz, all are welcome as we pay homage to the exquisite craft of singing this classic American artform. 
Keiko Kuykendall is our featured vocalist this month. Keiko's warm voice and heartfelt renditions really bring her songs to life. &nbsp;Pianist Pete Frassrand returns as our accompanist. (Singers, bring charts in your key, if possible.)
El Golfo has great vibes, delicious Latin/Mexican cuisine, and plenty of parking.
No cover charge, but we suggest a donation of $10. All tips beyond the musician's fee support a health fund for El Golfo's beloved owner, Ada Villatoro.

We are seeking dog owners and their four-legged companions to assist in testing next-generation technology designed to distinguish between human and non-human movement in home environments! What You Will Do Location: Onsite, realistic mock-apartment setup in the Rockville, MD area. Duration: 1-hour private, 1-on-1 session with an onsite moderator. Activities: You and your dog will perform routine, everyday household activities guided by the moderator, such as walking room-to-room, playing, or searching for treats, while motion-tracking devices evaluate the environment. Participant Requirements To be eligible, you must be located in Rockville, MD or within a 1-hour drive of the area, and be willing to travel to the testing facility. You must own a well-socialized dog, be comfortable participating in light physical activity alongside your pet, and have availability on weekdays. The total payout is $150, which covers 1 hour of onsite testing and round-trip travel time (to and from the site). Note: This is an onsite project.
