When the “Peabody Promenader Jazz Band” perform (we’ve heard your call to hear new bands, but we request your support) Be prepared for a blend of popular traditional melodies and some brand-new, early-days’ style traditional jazz music. Led by master level trombonist and composer Marcel Penzes, one of the hottest new players on the local scene. The band features the “cream of the crop” musicians from America’s oldest music academy, Baltimore’s Peabody Conservatory. The audience can expect to hear a lineup that includes both known and forgotten jazz from turn-of-the-last-century Baltimore composers.

Shakespeare made over 2,300 references to love, lovers or beloved within the entire body of his work. Just as every play has a banquet scene, surely there are as many love scenes. Right? That’s what one would think. The truth is that actual love scenes as we think of them today are few and far between, which begs the question, what is The Bard’s relationship to love? And does his version of love truly stand the test of time?
Love’s the Thang! is a blend of Shakespearean love scenes paired with foundational Black music, spoken word, and poetry. It’s the ultimate Shakespearean love remix that tries to define the thing that even Shakespeare could never quite wrap his head around…love.
Featuring Music and Poetry by DJ Renegade, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Kai Davis, Mona Lake Jones, Maya Angelou, LL Cool J, and Etta James.Music arranged by Hurt City DJ’s.

Montgomery College Cafritz Foundation Arts Center

The King Street Gallery at Montgomery College and the Arts Institute present an exhibition featuring works by artists Malik Greene, Ashley Ja’nae Gunter, and Ju Yun. 
Experience artwork by three artists who explore concepts of identity and material culture with an exuberant opulence in their approach to media. Luscious paint, vibrant colors, and intricate mixed media delight the eye, providing viewers with a Visual Feast.
Visual Feast runs Oct 1 – November 6, 2026, at the King Street Gallery, with an Artist Talk Thursday, October 22 at 3:00pm, followed by a reception from 4-6:00pm.
Free and open to the public.
