UPDATE: Child Rescued from Pool in Serious Condition

Lifeguards pulled a child from the water, say authorities.

UPDATED at 1:20 p.m.

Montgomery County officials say a boy pulled from the water at the Connecticut Belair Club pool Tuesday morning is in serious condition at an area hospital.

Pete Piringer, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, said on Twitter that they were called to 3901 Ferrera Drive.

The was reportedly rescued from the pool, lifeguards assisted in the effort.

WUSA reports the boy was at the pool with a group of children as part of a camp who were doing swim tests. The boy failed his test and was restricted to the pool’s shallow area. Lifeguards spotted him under water and pulled him out, authorities told the TV station.

CPR was administered to the youngster, who was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.
