Commuters Score Free SmartTrip Card At Silver Spring Metro

As a thank you to Metro riders for using the system, commuters can score a free SmartTrip card at the Silver Spring station Tuesday.

SILVER SPRING, MD — As a thank you to Metro riders for using the system, commuters can score a free SmartTrip card at the Silver Spring Metro station Tuesday morning.

Congressman Jamie Raskin will join Metro workers to give away $10 SmartTrip cards to riders during the morning commute.

This is the first in a series of SmartTrip Card giveaways being sponsored by the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 689, Metro’s largest union that represents more than 9,200 active WMATA front-line employees.

SmartTrip Cards will be passed out to Metro riders starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Silver Spring Metro Station on the corner of Colesville Road and Wayne Avenue.
