Concert for Life Promotes Organ Donating

The Washington Regional Transplant Community hosted this event to bringing awareness to the hispanic community about the need for organ donors.

 The "Celebracion por la vida" or "Celebration for Life,"  concert  brought awareness to the need for organ and tissue donors in the Hispanic community. The Washington Regional Transplant Community (WRTC) organized the event in Downtown Silver Spring with three latin bands Café y Caribe, The Sessions Band and Ocho de Bastos. This event featured the stories of two women who are volunteers The Washington Regional Transplant Community.

Sandra Valles explained how, Nicholas, her son received a life-saving liver transplant, thanks to the generosity of an organ donor. Rosa Lobos explained how her daughter went on to become an organ and tissue donor after she died because her family thought someone else would have the opportunity for a second chance at life.
