DC Teen Arrested In String Of Burglaries In Montgomery Co: Police
Police have arrested a DC teen they say was behind a string of commercial burglaries in Montgomery County.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police have arrested a D.C. teen they say was behind multiple commercial burglaries over the past two weeks in the Wheaton-Silver Spring area.
The 16-year-old boy was charged with burglary and auto theft-related offenses in connection to at least four incidents that took place between Nov. 13 and 21, police said.
The first two incidents took place in the early morning hours of Nov. 13. At about 2:52 a.m., police responded to Lindsay Ford, located at 11250 Veirs Mill Rd., for a burglar alarm. Authorities say the suspect could be seen on surveillance video breaking a glass door, entering the showroom, and driving away in a Mercedes-Benz.

Police responded to another burglar alarm a minute later — this time at the Target down the road. The same suspect could be seen on surveillance video breaking the glass door and entering the business. However, authorities say the teen could not get past the second door.
The other two incidents took place on Nov. 21. At 2:56 a.m., police again responded to a burglar alarm at the Lindsay Ford. The same suspect could be seen on surveillance video breaking the glass door and entering the business, police said.

At approximately 3:10 a.m., a county police officer was on patrol when he heard an alarm going off at the Dick's Sporting Goods, located at 11160 Veirs Mill Rd. Responding officers later found a broken store window.
Less than an hour later, officers patrolling the downtown Wheaton area spotted a teenager who matched the suspect description in both the Lindsay Ford and Dick's Sporting Goods burglaries.
Police say the officers arrested the teen and turned him over to Montgomery County Juvenile Services.
