Family Tied Up For Hours By Home Invaders In Silver Spring
BREAKING: Five suspects tied up a family and held them hostage overnight in their own home in Silver Spring, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police are investigating a home invasion robbery where five suspects tied the residents up and held them hostage overnight in their home, police said.
At about 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 8800 block of Manchester Rd. for the report of a home invasion robbery. An adult female victim told officers that five suspects entered their home, bound them and kept them like that overnight before they fled from the home early in the morning.
Investigation reveals that at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, the home was occupied by two adults and a juvenile when the suspects knocked on the door of their home. The suspects were able to get the victims to invite them into their home, police said.

NBC Washington reports two men, two women and a 7-year-old boy were held hostage inside the home. A victim said that the five men stabbed his son-in-lawand stole his son-in-law's car and money.
Detectives are working to understand the suspect’s actions through the night as they held the victims captive, police told Patch.

At about 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, one suspect began to assault an adult male victim with a knife. During the assault, this victim disarmed the suspect which caused the three remaining suspects in the home to flee from the house, police said. The victims were then able to contact 9-1-1 once the suspects had fled.

Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the home and transported an adult male victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries that he received during the home invasion robbery and assault.
Police describe the first suspect as a black male in his 20’s, 5’7” to 5’8” tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. A second suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. The remaining three suspects are described as black males in their 20’s.
Detectives urge anyone with information about the suspects or this home invasion robbery to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
