Fatal Shooting On Metro Bus In Silver Spring Under Investigation
Montgomery County homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night on a Metro Bus in Silver Spring.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Homicide detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night on a WMATA Metro Bus in Silver Spring, according to a police release.
Officers on patrol around 7:34 p.m. in the Vista at White Oaks apartments observed a Metro Bus pulling over on Lockwood Drive. When they approached the bus to offer help, the officers discovered that a shooting had just taken place on the bus.
The officers removed the victim, who was later identified as 19-year-old Justice T’Ziyan Elliott of Silver Spring, and began administering life-saving measures until fire and rescue personnel arrived, according to police. Elliot was pronounced dead on the scene.

Through their investigation, detectives determined that Elliott was sitting in the back of the bus when the suspect boarded the bus. The suspect confronted Elliot and they began to argue. The suspect then pulled out a handgun, shot Elliot, and then ran from the bus, according to police.
Police described the suspect as a Black man, with a thin build, who stood 5-foot-10 in height. He was wearing all black clothing, including a black face mask.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have been a passenger on the bus when the shooting occurred to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Callers do not need to identify themselves.
