First Gen Students - Scholarships & College Fairs

Scholarship opportunities available for first generation students.

1. The Herb Block Foundation Eligibility: Financial Assistance for students of all ages to attend community college in DC metro areas. Up to $8000 per academic year and up to $16,000 overall. Deadline are Fall semester July 7th and Spring November 10

2. Smith College (Women of Distinction): The college will host their annual Women of Distinction program that promotes opportunities at Smith College for Latina, Asian American, African American and Native American students for seniors. Date from October 20-22.

3. Summer R.I.S.E.: Locally funded initiative led by Worksource Montgomery in collaboration with MCPS and more. Participants receive a stipend, gain exposure to differing careers all while interacting with professionals and developing skills. It is a 3-week program from July 10-July28, $300 stipend.
