French Restaurant 'Lina's Diner and Bar' To Open In Silver Spring

Lina's Diner and Bar will open on Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring mid-May.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A new restaurant called Lina's Diner and Bar will open in Silver Spring mid-May, according to Bethesda Magazine. Lina's Diner and Bar will replace Piratz Tavern at 8402 Georgia Ave.

“We bill ourselves as the new American diner,” owner and Silver Spring resident Juancarlo Parkhurst said. “Our diner is rooted in classic French technique, with some fun and creative dishes that sometimes border on the absurd.”

Traditional French items include croque monsieur, Québécois french fries with gravy and croque madame sandwiches. More creative dishes include Mexican chilaquiles and a Carribean-influenced le deux cochon — a chicken sandwich with béarnaise sauce, jamon and plantains.
