collaboration with Make-A-Wish® Charity to support their mission to create life-changing experiences for children with critical illnesses
SEPTEMBER 1, 2021 -- SILVER SPRING, MD-- The pandemic has provided the Goldfish Swim School Silver Spring Team with an opportunity to pause and reflect on what’s most important in life. We have seen just how powerful the compassion and strength of our family, friends and community can be. We are proud to announce our collaboration with Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic to come together as a community to make WAVES and make local WISHES come true!
Goldfish Swim School Silver Spring is hosting a Make-A-Wish® fundraising event on Saturday, September 18th from 2:30pm - 4:30pm. We invite families in our community to JOIN US in making WAVES and WISHES! Throw your swimsuits, towels, and credit card in your pool bag and bring your family to Goldfish Swim School Silver Spring for a dip in the pool, silent auction, and tons of kid-friendly lobby activities.
Our goal is to raise enough money to fully fund a local child’s WISH! Our silent auction offers attendees a chance to bid on TEN swim lessons packages containing 1 FULL YEAR of swim lessons each (each package valued at over 1,680)! We also have a long list of other FINtastic raffles and silent auction prizes at every price point. The silent auction will be available in-person beginning Saturday, September 11, 2021 and will close 30-minutes prior to the end of the event on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
Admission to this event is FREE! Please note that all activities other than family swim are open to everyone. No reservations required and walk-ins welcome! Family Swim Reservations are required and space is limited. Reserve your Family Swim Tickets here!
“Our commitment to supporting families and community is at the heart of everything we do here at Goldfish. About Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic serves children who reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland and northern Virginia. Founded in 1983, the Mid-Atlantic chapter has granted more than 10,000 wishes in the Mid-Atlantic region since its inception. Wish kids face any number of critical illnesses such as cancer, pediatric AIDS, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Duchene’s muscular dystrophy, kidney and heart disease. This year alone, 840 local children are expected to be diagnosed with a critical illness. However, for every wish granted, at least one more local child is waiting. The community has the opportunity to make an impact today by helping Make-A-Wish® close the gap between wishes that are granted and those that are still waiting.
