Grab-N-Go Grocery Event: 500 Boxes Of Food Going To Silver Spring

Five hundred boxes of groceries will be given to families in need during the coronavirus pandemic. The event is on May 2.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Government, church, and nonprofit leaders will once again distribute 500 boxes of groceries to families in need on Saturday.

The Grab-N-Go Grocery event is sponsored by Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando, Kingdom Fellowship AME Church, Capital Area Food Bank, and the county's recreation department. Grocery boxes will be available for pick-up at 11 a.m. (while supplies last) in the Briggs Chaney Park and Ride Lot at the East County Community Recreation Center.

Jawando has coordinated two previous Grab-N-Go Grocery events and will continue to work with stakeholders to provide emergency food assistance to residents, county officials said.
