Guitar Center Celebrates Grand Opening In Silver Spring
To celebrate the store opening on Colesville Road, Guitar Center will present a weekend of festivities and specials.
SILVER SPRING, MD — The world's largest instrument retailer, Guitar Center, will open on Colesville Road in Silver Spring Thursday. The California-based company is opening their 14,900-square-foot store at 8661 Colesville Rd., according to a press release.
Shoppers can expect a wide variety of the latest products for musicians, from guitars, amplifiers, percussion instruments and keyboards to live sound, DJ, lighting and recording equipment.
The shop will also offer lessons, instrument rentals and repairs. Guitar Center holds private lessons for guitar, bass, keyboards and drums. Musicians can take either a 30 minute or 60 minute session so they can progress at their own pace.

To celebrate the store opening and engage with the Silver Spring community, Guitar Center will present a weekend of festivities and specials. Weekend deals include:
- $39.99 for your first set up any stringed instrument – strings included
- Free registration when you sign up for your first month of lessons
- $79.99 for PA System 3-Day Rental
- Special financing available grand opening weekend only
- WWDC-FM DJs will be onsite from 12-2 p.m. Saturday giving away cool gear and gift cards
Guitar Center has over 250 locations across the U.S., including stores in Rockville, Glen Burnie and Arlington.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
