Leisure World - continued intimidation and censorship
"People are taking notes and recording the Leisure World open meetings - obviously for a reason - that reason being the questionable character and actions of those who are being recorded." slk

Alive and well in Leisure World (LW), intimidation remains a tactic widely employed in LW governance and its management as was originally reported in 2013 by Paul Bessel to the Commission on Common Ownership Community (CCOC):

"Paul Bessle, a resident of Leisure World, spoke for himself. He favored Option D because he himself was a victim of intimidation when he filed a complaint with the CCOC against his association."

As seen in his 2010 CCOC complaint against Leisure World Community Corporation (a homeowners association) Paul Bessel charged then LWCC Chair Marian Altman with "improper Prohibition of Recording of Meetings":

In violation of that agreement, 2 further unlawful attempts to censor, intimidate and silence LW residents were initiated this past week.
A motion to bar residents from recording the open meetings was made on Weds. 8/15/18 by LW Budget Advisory Committee Chairman Phil Marks

On Thursday 8/16/18 Leisure World Communications Advisory Committee Chair Alan Goldstein moved to bar recording of that meeting (oh surprise, he is also on the LW Budget Advisory Committee).

His motion was strongly supported by the resigned Chairman, now committee member Arthur Popper, (who is also Chairman by default of the Strategic Planning Advisory Committee.)

As a member of both committees, Barbara Braswell questioned and objected to these attempts in light of her husband Paul Bessel's complaint settlement, as once again she did yesterday at the LW Executive Committee Open Forum--

Present at both Committee meetings and sitting yesterday as a current LW Exec.Committee representative, was Linda Wacha.

As they are now, Linda Wacha and Phil Marks were both LW Executive Committee representatives in 2011. The minutes of the March 21, 2011 meeting show (then Vice Chairman) Marks and Wacha were both present at that meeting when they voted to approve Resolution #15, 3/11/18.

Readers will recall - The Leisure World Community Corporation Board of Directors operates unlawfully -in violation of State of Maryland law requiring representatives be ELECTED by the member/unit owners not selected:
