Leisure World of Maryland Celebrates MLK Day with Powerful Community Church Service
The Leisure World Association for African American Culture and Inter-Faith Chapel Co-Sponsored moving Inter-Faith worship service Monday.

The Leisure World of Maryland Inter-Faith Chapel and the Leisure World Association for African American Culture co-sponsored a packed interfaith worship service and brunch to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on January 18. The moving event called for those in attendance to remember not just King’s sacrifice but also all of those who lost their lives in the push for racial equality in America.
The service was a meaningful blend of scripture and music, with performances by the Leisure World Chorale, the Generational Joy Liturgical Dancers, and original music from Charles Garner and Everett Williams Jr. Tears were shed and smiles were shared as attendees thought of the strides that had been made by the African American community.
