Man Charged In Connection With Nov. 2023 Homicide In Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Authorities have arrested a person in connection with the November 2023 death of Orlando Alexander Satz Jr. in Montgomery County.

Authorities arrested and charged Jose Ramon Ventura with accessory after the fact for driving and transporting two people believed to be responsible for the shooting death of 20-year-old Satz, Montgomery County police said in a news release.

Satz died after crashing his car into a parked vehicle on Spruell Drive, police said. Neighbors who heard the crash removed Satz from the car and provided aid until paramedics responded.

When authorities arrived, they discovered Satz was suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds. His death was ruled as a homicide, police said.

According to police, investigators determined Ventura was driving a black Honda Civic that two suspects fled in after the shooting. A warrant was issued for his arrest Tuesday, and he was taken into custody Thursday.

Ventura is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
