SILVER SPRING, MD — Authorities have arrested a Silver Spring man they say raped and robbed a woman he met through an online dating app.

Demitrious Harriott, 24, was charged with second-degree rape, robbery, and second-degree assault Friday following the attack that morning, according to Montgomery County police.

Police say Harriott met the female victim at an apartment in the 8500 block of 16th St. at approximately 2:30 a.m. As they walked down a hall, Harriott reportedly pushed the woman into a stairwell, sexually assaulted her, and slammed her face into a concrete wall. Harriott, known to the victim as "Johnny," then stole the woman's phone and fled, police said.

Harriott was arrested that day, at approximately 6:15 a.m, police said. He is being held without bond.
