Man In Critical Condition After Silver Spring House Fire: MCFRS
One man is in critical condition following a house fire in Silver Spring Thursday morning.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A man is in critical condition after firefighters rescued him from a house fire in Silver Spring Thursday morning.
Shortly after 6:30 a.m., Montgomery County firefighters were dispatched to 2302 Dexter Ave. — where they found a two-story brick home on fire. The blaze, according to fire officials, originated on the first floor and was mostly contained to a couch.
Firefighters forced their way through the front door and were able to rescue a man who was taken to hospital in critical condition. Officials say a firefighter suffered minor injuries and a dog died in the fire.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, according to officials. They added that the house had working smoke detectors.
