Armed Robbery At Silver Spring Ice Cream Shop, Suspect Wanted

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police are searching for a suspect who committed an armed robbery at the Moorenko's Ice Cream shop in Silver Spring.

At about 9:50 p.m. July 31, officers responded to the ice cream store at 8030 Georgia Ave. for the report of an armed robbery.

Detectives say the man entered the shop, displayed a handgun and confronted the clerk at the cash register. The suspect demanded cash from the register, and the clerk complied. The man then placed the money into his pants pocket and fled from the store on foot, police said.
