Maryland Perseverance Scholarship Approaching Deadline
The Maryland Perseverance Scholarship is intended to help someone get a college education who might not otherwise be able to do so.

It's not always easy to stick up for yourself or others. Life throws obstacles in your way. The ability to persevere -- to keep on going even when it is difficult to do so-- is crucially important for reaching your full potential and achieving your most cherished goals.
Here at the Maryland law firm of DuBoff & Associates, Chartered, one of our core principles is to persevere when the going gets rough. We fight for our clients, and we stick up for them even when no one else will.
Every day we see, in and out of the courtroom, how important perseverance is to success. We want to encourage young people to value and develop perseverance in themselves. In particular, we want to encourage students to be persistent in furthering their education.

For that reason, we are sponsoring the Maryland Perseverance Scholarship, which is intended to help someone get a college education who might not otherwise be able to do so. The scholarship pays $1,000 to a high school senior or college student enrolled in a two-to-five year Maryland educational institution. Scholarship applicants must submit a video and essay. The scholarship winner will be selected based entirely on the video and essay. No minimum GPA is required.
How to Enter
Create a short video (30 seconds to two minutes long) and write a supporting 750-to-1500 word essay. The video and essay should describe either how someone helped you get through a tough time or how you stood up for someone else. You should talk and write about who helped you (or who you helped), what the outcome was, what you learned from the experience that you can use in the future, and how winning this scholarship will help you achieve your educational goals.

Post the video on YouTube, using the title and description given on the Scholarship's terms and conditions page. Fill out the application, submit the essay, and provide the link to the video on the application page.
Applicants must be enrolled in a Maryland educational institution in 2016, but they can be legal residents of any state in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
The Deadline is Coming Up Soon
The deadline to apply for this scholarship is August 1, 2016, so don't delay.
We are looking forward to watching the videos and reading the essays. Inspiration is a two-way street. While we hope to inspire young people to stick with their educational and other important goals, we in turn are inspired by learning how young people are sticking up for themselves and for others.
