Maryland Weather: Following a damp beginning to the work week, better days are on the immediate horizon: National Weather Service.
Despite what's expected to be a rather soggy beginning to the work week, fret not. Sunshine is on the way after Monday and should stick around for the rest of the week. That's the word for the area outpost of the National Weather Service.
Temperatures throughout the week should be in the mid to upper 80s. By Friday, mostly sunny skies will give way to some clouds and a chance of a thunderstorm here and there. For the most part, though, (after Monday), the week ahead looks pretty darn good, save the heat.

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 86. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Monday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between midnight and 2am, then a slight chance of showers after 2am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Low around 68. Southwest wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 8 to 11 mph.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind 9 to 11 mph becoming west after midnight.
