UPDATE: Missing Wheaton Woman Found, Say Montgomery County Police

A Wheaton woman reported missing after she went on a walk has been found safe, police said Wednesday.

UPDATED at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday WHEATON, MD — A Wheaton woman missing since she left home for a walk Monday has been found safe, according to Montgomery County Police on Wednesday afternoon.

At 1 p.m. Wednesday, police said Geraldine Lonkon Fongong has been located safe and unharmed.

Geraldine Lonkon Fongong, 34, was last seen by family members about 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, when she left her Glenallan Avenue home for her regular walk around the neighborhood. Fongong is familiar with public transportation and is known to visit the central business district of downtown Silver Spring.

Fongong is described as an African-American female, 5’ tall and weighing 230 pounds. She has medium length black hair and brown eyes. Fongong was last seen wearing a black jacket, black shoes, and carrying a brown purse.

Police and family members are concerned for Geraldine Fongong’s welfare.
