Confirmed coronavirus cases in Montgomery County grew by 131 on Friday, while the number of coronavirus-related deaths grew by one.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Confirmed coronavirus cases in Montgomery County grew by 131 on Friday, while the number of coronavirus-related deaths grew by one.
The latest data released by the Maryland Department of Healthreported the county's overall totals at 22,810 infections and 811 deaths.
The latest fatality count does not include the 40 others whose deaths were linked to the virus, but never confirmed by a lab test. For now, they are considered "probable deaths."

Montgomery County continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 29,791, according to the latest figures.
To date, Montgomery County has tested 285,503 people, according to the data.

Statewide, there have been 126,222 cases and 3,806 confirmed deaths. There are currently 323 patients hospitalized, 80 of which are in intensive care.
