SILVER SPRING, MD—Montgomery Parks, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has launched a photo contest for the month of July to celebrate Parks and Recreation month, and to encourage people to share their photos taken in parks. The contest runs through July 31 and features three categories for which participants may submit entries:
- Inside Out – Take a common indoor task OUTSIDE! Check your e-mail, eat your breakfast, conduct a staff meeting…but, do it OUTSIDE in one of our parks!
- Patriotism in the Parks – In honor of Independence Day, we want to see your patriotic side! Demonstrate your love of the Red, White, and Blue in one of our parks or park facilities.
- Strike a Pose in the Parks – Grab your friends/families/pets and get creative, as you mug for the camera in one of our parks or park facilities!
A panel of parks staff will select the top three entries for each category. These photos will then be posted to Montgomery Parks Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/MontgomeryParks) for people to vote for their favorite. The photos with the most likes in each category will win a Montgomery Parks’ goodie bag with a selection of fun and useful parks paraphernalia such as water bottles, t-shirts, first aid kits, coolers and more, and will have their photos featured on Montgomery Parks website and social media sites.
Complete contest details are available at www.MontgomeryParks.org/ParksPics.
