Motorcyclist Dies in Briggs Chaney Crash: Police
A Burtonsville man died when his motorcycle collided with a car driven by a Silver Spring woman on Tuesday, police say.

FAIRLAND, MD — A Montgomery County motorcyclist died Tuesday night in a crash with a car at an intersection in the Briggs Chaney area, according to Montgomery County Police.
The fatal crash happened in the area of Old Columbia Pike and Briggs Chaney Road about 6 p.m. Accident investigators say a 2011 Toyota Camry was turning left from northbound Old Columbia Pike onto westbound Briggs Chaney Road and a 2009 Suzuki DR-Z125 motorcycle was southbound on Old Columbia Pike approaching Briggs Chaney Road when the vehicles collided in the intersection.
The driver of the motorcycle — Addisu Mesfin, 21, of the 4200 block of Woottens Lane in Burtonsville — died from his injuries at the scene, police say.

The Camry driver is Nancy Cermak, 64, of the 1700 block of Briggs Chaney Road in Silver Spring. Cermak was not injured in the collision.
