Murder Charge Filed In 2022 Fatal Shooting Of Silver Spring Man
A homicide suspect extradited from Pennsylvania was charged in the fatal shooting of a 57-year-old Silver Spring man in September 2022.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department on Tuesday charged a suspect in the fatal shooting of 57-year-old Bacilio Villatoro of Silver Spring.
Officers responded around 12:41 p.m., on Sept. 22, 2022, to the 3000 block of Adams Street, Northeast for the report of a shooting. The arriving officers located Villatoro, who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to police
After examining Villatoro and finding no signs of life, D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced him dead, according to police. His body was later taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant issued on Dec. 23, 2022, members of the Middle District of Pennsylvania U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 21-year-old Jamari Payne, of no fixed address, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
On Tuesday, MPD’s Fugitive Unit transported Payne to MPD's Homicide Branch, where he was charged with second degree murder while armed, according to police.
