New BBQ Restaurant Opens In Downtown Silver Spring
Lincoln's BBQ is opening Friday night at the same spot as the former A.G. Kitchen.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A new barbecue restaurant called Lincoln's BBQ will open in downtown Silver Spring Friday night. Lincoln's BBQ will open it's doors at 931 Ellsworth Dr., the same spot A.G. Kitchen closed this December.
The restaurant will open at 5 p.m. Friday. Lincoln's will only be open for dinner over the weekend, but will start serving lunch later in the upcoming week.
Lincoln's BBQ will have two 200-pound smokers to cook up tons of Southern barbecue, from brisket to pulled pork. The menu has a wide variety of food, including: fried or barbecued chicken, burgers, sandwiches, beef, turkey, pork and different sides like corn, peppers and chilies, Old Bay fries, mac and cheese, collard greens, baked beans and more.

Patrons will choose from six different sauces to go along with their meat.
“I compare barbecue to wine,” General Manager Dana Mangus told Bethesda Magazine. “Every palate is going to be different and we want to serve those different tastes.”

Magnus said a signature dish at the restaurant is the Frito pie appetizer, which has cheese, jalapeños, onions and chili on top of Frito chips in a cut-open Frito bag.
The restaurant will also serve 42 beers mostly from regional breweries, along with milkshakes with bourbon. Lincoln's will seat 315 diners, and will host weekly live music events with local bands.
Lincoln's BBQ is run by The Restaurant Group, which is the same company that opened A.G. Kitchen.
The Assistant General Manager Philip Reeder told Bethesda Magazine that the company closed A.G. Kitchen because there are several Cuban and Latin restaurants in the Silver Spring area, and research shows there's a lack of barbecue options.
Once Lincoln's BBQ is fully operational, their hours will be: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. They will also serve brunch with Bloody Mary and margarita bars Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
