New Coffee Shop Opens In Downtown Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD — A new coffee shop is coming to downtown Silver Spring. Ground, a café and coffee boutique, will open its doors at the corner of Sligo Avenue and Selim Road, local blog Source of the Spring reports.

Ground will serve a variety of food, including: breakfast sandwiches like an egg and aged Vermont cheddar cheese sandwich; assorted pastries and lunch items such as the house made hummus, Mediterranean tuna salad sandwich and salads.

Along with food, customers can enjoy coffee, tea, organic juices, smoothies and beer and wine.

Ground's owner is Malede Anteneh, who also owns and operates Balagger Ethiopian Restaurant & Bar next door to Ground.

Source of the Spring reports the coffee shop opened Saturday, but it was not yet open Monday morning.

Ground will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 8083 Georgia Ave.
