New Waffle, Crêpe Food Truck Coming To Downtown Silver Spring

A new food truck specializing in authentic Belgian waffles and crêpes is coming to downtown Silver Spring this weekend.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A new food truck specializing in authentic Belgian waffles and crêpes will kick off their service in downtown Silver Spring this weekend, according to the local neighborhood blog Source of the Spring.

Bonjour Waffles will serve waffles, crêpes and Liège waffles at 8600 Colesville Rd. The owner, Irene Kinyoki-Adjeb, lived in Europe before the U.S. and learned all about the different kinds of sweets served there.

"Here at Bonjour Waffles, we create an authentic Belgian Liege waffle that is unlike anything you've ever tasted," the website states.

The menu includes various items like: a simple Brussels Waffle; a Nutella Lover waffle or crêpe which has gourmet Nutella chocolate hazelnut, powdered sugar, whipped cream and chocolate sauce; and a Fresh Fruit Deluxe waffle or crêpe with your choice of two seasonal fresh fruits, a scoop of ice cream, homemade fresh cream Chantilly or cream cheese with powdered sugar.

Items run from $4.99 to $7.85. You can also build your own waffle or crêpe with your choice of ice cream, walnuts, fruit, Nutella, peanut butter, cinnamon sugar, coconut flakes, caramel sauce, maple syrup and more.

Bonjour Waffle's grand opening is June 23-25 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The truck will also participate in the 8th Annual Ivorian & Cultural Festival from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. August 6 at One Veterans Place, downtown Silver Spring.
