Campbell saw the speeding car and was going to stop the driver when he saw the man pointing to his wife in the passenger seat saying “baby, baby.”
The couple then followed Campbell’s police cruiser with lights flashing en route to Holy Cross Hospital, but had to stop short.

The baby was crowning a couple blocks away from the hospital, so Campbell helped the couple deliver the boy.
“Mom did the work. She did a great job. It got the heart pumping a little bit,” Campbell told WTOP.
Mother Hilda Aguilar told NBC Washington, “I felt a range of emotions, but above all, I was thinking of the baby.”
She said if they didn’t already have a name selected, Daniel would have been a great baby name.
The department noted that the child was born on Bring Your Child To Work Day.
Officer Campbell is a seven year veteran of the Department. This was the first baby he delivered on the job.
Congrats to the new parents!
